baseline shift
I got laid off today.
I have been happier for the last 10 hours than I have been in 10 months.
But I can't seem to sleep.
I lay outside on the deck and watch the front move in; the branches shift, stronger, blowing in the end of summer, the beginning of something new, mostly unknown.
It's a shift, a baseline shift in seasons, in my life, in the universe.
