Counting April Blessings

I am just so darned lucky. This is the view from my favorite chair at the living room window. I live on this creek, see, (technically a ravine, for which, during the rainy season, I frequently thank all Gods and Goddesses) - and its placement, between the house and the street, affords me this peaceful forest view. The best part is not that it's just 8 minutes from downtown Dallas, or how utterly and surprisingly quiet it is, especially late at night, or that my little 10 house enclave of neighbors all take care of each other, or how amazingly safe we are in an otherwise dicey neighborhood, or how delicately the moonlight slices between the trees, or how happily and freely the animals romp through the woods...

....mostly I'm just thankful that the universe, a Higher Power, SOMEthing was nice enough to bring it to ME....cause my little bungalow tucked in the woods brings this otherwise hyperactive, sometimes over emotional city girl - a peace and calm - a gounding, a centeredness, I might otherwise never have achieved. There is so much wrong with the world and I get to have THIS?

Thank you all that Is. It's so green and peaceful this first Sunday in April.
